Hello

As you may already know, I am one of the "new" guys. I joined up with the Roadshow in Omaha, just before RAGBRAI. Read on for my impressions so far, as well as some recent developments. I'll write this in reverse order so you can see the new info first.

I'm writing this from Fostoria Ohio. Not our overnight town but 20 miles from it. Ohio is flat. We've made good time. Yay us. Last night we were in Ottoville, Ohio, not too far from the Indiana/Ohio border. We slept under a picnic shelter behind the massive Catholic church/school/soccer field. We met a fireman/tri-athelete named Tim, who invited us to use his pool and then fed us pizza and beer and Coke. Everyone was pretty pumped about the pool but the food made us really happy. The ride that day had been a flat and quick 85 miles. I know what you're thinking, "how can 85 miles be quick?" but when the roads a flat and smooth and the weather isn't too hot, 85 miles can be ridden relatively quickly. It's odd but after Ragbrai, 80 miles felt kinda longish again but after Illinois 75-80 miles is about normal and not very hard. I almost forgot: we juggled some fire for Tim, his family and some friends, they all enjoyed it as much as we did. Fire is so cool. On an unrelated note, Josh's girlfriend Amy is here from Michigan for a few days and Josh is a tad under the weather so he's been driving to our overnights and attempting to recover. This is proof, somehow, that women from Michigan are not good for the immune system, but we'll have to do further testing. The morning of today's ride was foggy and cool. Good riding weather and thankfully not much traffic. It pretty hot outside right now and I'm enjoying the air conditioned library very much. FYI Ohio is in eastern time and losing an hour last night is messing with most of us a little. Indiana is in the eastern time zone as well but doesn't believe in daylight savings time so it was like central daylight time, silly Philistines. Sorry for the stream of consciousness entry, but my brain is broken from being in eastern time and going to Cedar Point tomorrow. it'll be a super fun off day. Goodbye everybody.

Between route changes, good news about the mechanical issues, and the nice people we met last night in Hartford City, there is a lot to catch up on. Read on for all the news...

Hello again, long time no see. I have 45 minutes to fill you in on a week of stuff, so I'll do my best. If this entry ends abrubtly, it's because I had to post it or risk losing the entire thing. If it's not proof read and spelled like a drunk 12 year old (as opposed to my usual spelling like a sober 12 year old) this is the reason.

I'm am doing the normal entry, Josh did a picture entry, and Jesse will be doing an entry dicussing mechanical issues and a seperate one discussing roster changes. Please read all 4-ish of them. (they may not all appear at once).

Firstly, I'm going to start this entry by saying that Mike is fine and back on the road with us, and will be riding the entire way to Boston. You can all sleep easy. His arm is healing and you can even see pictures in the photo section of this page thanks to Josh.

On the same subject, Norm wrecked today. No one is really sure how, but what we've pieced together is that he "zoned out" as he tends to do, and bounced off a guard rail onto the pavement. He's doing fine and only has mild road rash.

In the interest of saving time I'm going to not do this entry in the usual chronological order and will instead skip around some. Firstly, concerning RAGBRAI, and then Illinoise (which we are now finished with) ....

The cast of Road Show USA has changed a bit for the second half of our trip. Read on to get all the details...

Okay, I'm not going to do a full update because I just spent a couple of hours uploading photos, but I just wanted to let you all know that everything is going pretty well and we are still all alive.

We have changed our route a bit (again) to make it much simpler and hopefully a little shorter and safer. The general gist of the change is that we will now be heading straight east along route 9 from Gibson City rather than turning north. This turns into 26 which we will take all the way across Indiana. When we hit Ohio we will start working our way north where we will still hit Lake Erie near Sandusky. Jesse will hopefully today or tomorrow make a more complete update of the changes and explain some of the wheel issues we are still experiencing.

Keeping things short, RAGBRAI rocked. We want to thank all the wonderful people we met and performed for and encourage everyone visiting this site for the first time (or even if it's not your first time) to visit the donate portion of our site and give to the worthy cause we're doing this trip to benefit, the Shriner's Hospitals for Children.

That's all for now folks.
